About the Richmond Raceway Complex
Richmond International Raceway is host to over 120 various events from consumer/trade shows to outdoor festivals in the buildings and outdoor spaces on the property known as the Richmond Raceway Complex. Some of these events throughout the year include the Richmond Boat Show and Central Virginia Pork Festival to the Bizarre Bazaar and Southern Women’s Show. The Richmond Raceway Complex consists of six permanent Exhibition/Meeting Facilities with over 160,000 square feet of space. We also host corporate and private events in the 15,000 square foot executive level Torque Club overlooking Richmond International Raceway. Another unique meeting venue on our property is the Media Center located just feet away from Victory Lane and Pit Road where you can hold a small meeting or lunch and then follow with pace car rides! We have everything you need in order to accomplish a great meeting. Contact us to book your next event!
Richmond International Raceway, known as America’s Premier Short Track, offers great night racing action and a commitment to the fan experience. One of the most popular facilities among drivers and fans in all of motorsports, Richmond International Raceway annually hosts all of its major events, two NASCAR Doubleheader weekends featuring the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series, under the lights on a ¾-mile D-Shaped oval. The unique layout traditionally produces exciting side-by-side racing, yet drivers reach high enough speeds for a superspeedway feel. Combined with first-class amenities and a focus on the fans, guests at Richmond International Raceway can expect to experience what “Racing Perfection” truly is. The 2012 schedule features NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series races April 27-28 and September 7-8, showcasing Racing Perfection “under the lights.” We are also host to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown on April 26th. The track becomes the 8th largest “city” in the Commonwealth of Virginia on NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race days, with approximately 100,000 on the track’s property. We’re also on Twitter @RIRInsider and Facebook (facebook.com/richmondinternationalraceway). Richmond…It’s Racing Perfection!
Virginia is for Lovers
Located midway between New York and Florida, Virginia is the gateway to the South. It is also sometimes classified in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Commonwealth is bordered by Washington, D.C., the nation's capital, and Maryland to the north; the Atlantic Ocean to the east; North Carolina and Tennessee to the south; and West Virginia and Kentucky to the west.
Western Virginia is mountainous, covered by the Allegheny and Blue Ridge mountains with the great Shenandoah Valley falling between the ranges. The central piedmont region, with its rolling hills, flattens out into the sandy coastal plain toward the Atlantic Ocean.
